Is the Upper Canada & Algonquin Ry setting up at the Toronto Christmas Train Show?

Saturday November 21 11am-4pm

Sunday November 22, 10am-4pm

In Hall 3 at The International Centre, 6900 Airport Rd. Mississauga, ON

Will it be with the Narrow Gauge Madness Gang, or on its own?

Hey Ron,
We are definitely not ready for running trains this November but I am wondering if a small display of some sort might be doable. Not sure exactly what at this point. When do you need a commitment ?

Hi Lynn,

Not sure when the cut-off date is yet.... I'm checking into it.

According to Doug Jarvis:

We are supposed to submit our floorplans to the International Centre by October 21 for approval by fire marshal etc.

So Narrow Gauge Madness et. al. need to have their plans in to Doug Jarvis by this weekend.

Ok. . . That makes sense as far as timing is concerned. It's always been a fun time getting together with everyone. Well, I don't want to get into any kind of off site construction project as we have done in the past. Need something different and unique preferably
So I don't know really. Perhaps setting up my module as a kind of display similar to all the small displays the rest of the guys have been showing maybe? Would need to do more work to make it show-worthy.
Do you have any ideas/suggestions/off the wall ideas at all that might be interesting and perhaps a bit different from the standard fare we are all used to seeing ??
Anyway I will think about it over the next couple of days and see if my schedule will allow.

If you want to run a train, round 'n' round, you could haul out the Balloon...

Otherwise, contact Peter Reisiger to see if he's wired up his module and put on the IP. Then you could connect with him.

2 good ideas to consider . . thanks. I'll check in with Peter.

The balloon doesn't fit into our plans anymore. Is there a chance that you would like to have it back? My son Brett lives just down the street from you on Elway. I could drop it off one day when I'm in the neighbourhood at a mutually convenient time. Failing that is their anything I could salvage from it in 5 or 10 minutes before it finds another resting place?

The Balloon...

Well....

How soon do you want it gone?

I've posted that it is available free to a good home, but no one has shown any interest.

Salvage???

Rail: Code 100 and lots of spikes.

Turnouts are functional: Maybe the Frogs could be salvaged.

The IP's could be re-used.

The Anderson Power-Poles and terminal blocks can be transplanted.

Several SPDT and DPDT electrical switches could be saved...

Various hardware could be salvaged from the Pedestal Legs. Plenty of T-Nuts, Carriage Bolts and Hinges.

Help yourself! :-)

I just put a new blade on my circular saw... Too bad that the styrofoam would make such a snow storm of bits...

Another Idea... We could raffle it off at the Christmas Train Show.

Donate it to a worthy cause perhaps?

All I know is that I have no where to keep it and it doesn't fit in with my future model railroad plans...
