Lynn Caron has collected a couple of buckets full of genuine Algonquin Park soil. It is very fine, almost the texture of peatmoss.
He also has the dark brown latex paint that is close to the soil colour.
Slap the paint on and then sprinkle the soil onto the wet paint and pat it down. When it is all dry, brush off the extra and start to add more scenery.

real dirt excellent idea , my on2-1/2 is logging as well . Real dirt will work
