Hey Ron,
We are definitely not ready for running trains this November but I am wondering if a small display of some sort might be doable. Not sure exactly what at this point. When do you need a commitment ?

Yes, Ron is correct. I have a number of these in different styles. And of course you can make your own if you like as well.

I live a little south of Hamburg/Germany, a married guy for 25 years. I have a son who´s just in the process of finishing college and taking up his post-graduate studies. I am currently out of a job, as my business was washed away by the global financial crisis, but I am working on a re-start in Canada (Nova Scotia).
I have been a model railroader since 1963, when my parents gave me a Marklin starter set for Christmas, which grew into my first little empire in the following years. Since then I tied my luck building layouts in various scales, all the from Z up to G in my garden. Most of them were of German outline, but I had been hooked on US prototype modelling since I received my first copy of the MR mag in 1969. My last project, the Alaska RR´s Port Whittier facilities in HO scale had to be stopped for economical reasons (lack of funds). After a pause, I can now start to think about getting back into the hobby and I am aiming at building a modular layout in On30 gauge, as my eyesight is weakening and my hands get shaky following a mild stroke earlier this year. I am still in the dreaming phase, but the planning will come soon!

- Hello plus 18 here snows a melting! I'd like your opinion on Boulder Models plastic Critters cabs . I'm thinking of using them on a ON30 S-2 type engine conversion( kitbashing a HO Bachmann Baby Trainmaster) And two Bachmann 44 tonners .
Also i'd like your opinion on AMS ON30 box cars. I also just bought 2 #5 ON30 micro engineering switches, they look good , but they seem too long so my original idea of hand laying seems to be the way to go . I hand laid a #4 switch and it seems more acurate.
I also found a great site for 1940's 1950's 1/48 scale logging trucks , expensive but well worth it! donmillsmodels.com Very early Mack trucks and pole type log trailers.

- I'm pretty sure thats the same loco i have slides of from the 70's. I do remember a museum at the east end . My dads friend a libraian in the Brampton high school took and the pics my dad took. Its in better shape though. I don't remember the spark arrestor or even a stack, just grey and alot of rust. Have you ever seen the logging exhibit near Sultan at the provincial park just west of Sultan Ontario.Theres a 50's log truck, and horse drawn artifacts as well as a locomotive. I can't remember if there is a railway engine from the CNR east of the park . I think theres a loco in Haliburton ? I really like the wood sleighs , a model of these would be fantastic!

- Ok , i've been there 30 years ago. Is the steam train still there? It was realy rusted when i was last . I'd like to see the pics . When i was last up there we didn't stop as i was hauling lumber through the park from a mill at the east end of the park . I went canoeing at the camp 2 rivers ? Any way i went west on the lake by canoe and found an old settlement , water wheel, logging camp? I also canoed North T lake area of the park. And went by the GTry motel, i'd like to see pics of the motel. I seem to remember portaging on an old railway bed near there.

- Hello Lynn , sure hope weather is better there , freezing rain , 15cmsnow expected here today! Trans Canada closed. All this i want to do my layout as a winter scene. I've always wanted to do iceicles hanging off a station, snow covering the main , Any idea as what to do ice with , i'm thinking parafin wax , but i'm not sure. Can you buy scuptamold in Ontario as i can't find it here.
I'm doing high snow banks , and a christmas scene . I've also thought about an amusement park with a train using Z scale with seats mounted and O scale figures on the seats.

The white stuff blew up your way by these southerlys and in fact its supposed to snow tonight. This is really puzzling weather this time of year. Due to Al Gore and Barrack Obamas theories on global warming we should be having early greenup and hot weather right now, not this minus 25 stuff.h well I'm going back to grading semester final exams and then try to figure out my new right of way around the farmhouse first floor. The archways between room really pose a problem of extra framing to get around them. Oh sure a tunnel through would be the best but....I'm trying to go double deck the length of the living room, dining room which is 32 feet.

- Brampton you say , thats where i stayed while in colledge and i also have the CN Brampton station sign, as i was working for the contracter who was remodeling the station in the 80's.
Also some wooden railway signs from the CN from near bye. I also have all the station records from the CN station in Brampton 1964 to 1967 .
If you know any one who would want any station artifacts let me know.

- Interesting map . When i lived in Ontario i canoed alot of Algonquin and saw alot of the Grand Trunk motel .
My interests are in Narrow gauge logging and 2 rail o scale. In Herbert last night we received another 4 inch's of the white stuff! We live right beside the CPR main line. I grew up next to the CNR and still model it today. Yes i grew up in Ontario , Limehouse to be exact.
